The more complex the technology, the more experts are needed for functional safety in the industrial sector and in agricultural and forestry management. But the question is, who is an expert in functional safety? ISO 25119 does not answer the question. On the one hand, it is required that only experts assess or manage functional safety, and on the other, they do not set out the conditions under which someone is considered an expert.
As an accredited service provider, SGS-TÜV Saar now provides you with the option of instructing people with expertise in functional safety, and thereby training them. With this qualification, as an individual, you can justify or even increase your market value. As a company, you have the opportunity to certify your employees independently and to secure expertise over the long term.
We certify you and your employees to work in functional safety. This is why we’ve developed a two-stage certification program with SGS-TÜV Saar. After successful completion of the qualification, SGS-TÜV Saar confirms this with a certificate for the graduate, stating they are a functional safety professional.
Steps required for AGFSP
You gain expert status as an “AGFSP” (Agricultural and forestry machines Functional Safety Professional) once you have successfully passed the exam after completing the training module. A prerequisite for admission to the exam is participation in the preparatory training module or alternatively an equivalent training certificate; or project experience in functional safety engineering.
To gain expert status in “AGFSE” (Agricultural and forestry machines Functional Safety Expert), you must hold the status of “AGFSP” and have been active in this field for at least 5 years. In order to obtain this expert status, you must apply to the SGS-TÜV Saar examination board, documenting your experience in functional safety and successfully passing a qualification audit.
The qualification (AGFSP) is valid for three years. By attending an update workshop, it is possible to extend the validity of your qualification by three years, if you complete the multiple choice test in the workshop successfully. In justified exceptional cases (illness or similar), the examination board may confirm your qualification without having to attend the update workshop.
