Safely into the future:
Autonomous Driving.

Wherever automated driving is developed, advanced electronics are essential. When it comes to data acquisition and processing, a car will only work reliably and safely if the algorithms you develop are designed for every conceivable operating scenario.

We at SGS-TÜV Saar are also happy to be your reliable partner for automated driving. Our specialists are fit in SOTIF and AI. Not to forget: Functional safety. This is also part of our day-to-day business and, in combination with SOTIF, becomes your plus in safety.

Last but not least, our involvement in a large number of research projects for automated driving proves that you are making a good choice with us at SGS-TÜV Saar - for comprehensive quality in the development of autonomous driving. And thus for your competitive edge.

We are your partner for automated driving.

Our SOTIF knowledge for your
robust systems

We are familiar with ISO 21448 and ISO 26262 and are therefore a future-oriented partner for your structured and successful development.

In the past, a car was an isolated entity. Today, however, autonomous driving means that a myriad of environmental parameters must be taken into account during development. How will it detect other cars? How will it detect people or the surrounding infrastructure? Not to mention all the unforeseen situations in traffic. The fact is, autonomous driving is not possible without cars learning to navigate the real world - a challenge in system development!

Systems are therefore dependent on "understanding" the environment and a wide variety of situations.

To ensure that the so-called intended functions do not trigger potentially dangerous behavior and misinterpret situations, a broad range of knowledge with a high level of technical depth is required.

We at SGS-TÜV Saar bring this knowledge to the table and incorporate all aspects of functional safety and SOTIF into your development project.

Partners in future-oriented research projects: A best-practice example

By means of data and sensor fusion, the InVerSiV project focuses on a fundamental requirement of autonomous driving: How can road users without sensors, such as pedestrians and cyclists, be safely detected and taken into account in the autonomous system's driving actions? And how can this be achieved, especially in confusing intersection situations such as those that occur in megacities?

To this end, the project partners are following the conceptual approach of networking the vehicle sensors with the roadside infrastructure and its sensors for environment detection. The challenge here is to merge the diverse data into a reliable overall picture of the intersection at all times. The "InVerSiV" research project in North Rhine-Westphalia has achieved its first successful milestones on the way to fully autonomous driving in the city.

SGS-TÜV Saar has developed a safety and security concept for this project in order to further improve security. Based on this, the security of the system is to be continuously improved. The "InVerSiV" project is supported by public funds from the European Regional Development Fund (EFRE.NRW).
